Margaret Knutson, 96, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth in Rochester.

Margaret was born on March 7, 1923 in Mott, North Dakota to Xavier and Magelena (Braun) Dauenhauer. She also attended school in Mott. Margaret worked at the Depot House, Michael's Restaurant and Samaritan Nursing Home, all in Rochester.

Margaret married Robert Knutson on February 6, 1943 in San Francisco, California. Together they had five children.

Margaret enjoyed reading, gardening, shopping and always remembered to send the grandchildren birthday cards.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Corinne) Knutson, Gene (Mary) Knutson, Linda (Gary) Bennett), Carolyn (Brian) Wicklein and Mark (Sally) Knutson; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and seven brothers and sisters.

The funeral service for Margaret will be on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Season's Hospice.
