Margaret A.
Corrigan
September 23, 1931 – December 13, 2012
Margaret Ann "Ludescher" Corrigan, age 81, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Saint Marys Hospital.
Margaret was born on September 23, 1931 in Des Moines. Along with her family she moved to Rochester where she graduated from Lourdes High School in 1949. She later attended the Mankato School of Business.
Margaret worked for Thorp Financial, where she met her husband, John Corrigan. They were married for 54 years.
She also worked at several retail businesses in Rochester for over 15 years.
One of Margaret's greatest joys in life was her 5 grandchildren. She was involved for many years with the St. Pius X Choir and soloist at many weddings and funerals. She was active in the church, school and many volunteer activities. Margaret loved to travel. She and John visited almost every state in the US and several European countries. Her greatest travel experience was when she and John traveled to Burkina Faso, West Africa, visiting her son John who was a Peace Corp volunteer. She was a voracious reader and passionate about giving service to others.
She is survived by her husband, John, and four children, John (Lisa) Corrigan, Mary (Harry) Corrigan Pearson, Anne (Chris) Corrigan Watson, Kathleen (Bill) Corrigan Howe and her five grandchildren, Austin, Colin John, Abagael, William and Jack.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Jim.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 17, 2012 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home from 5:00PM to 7:00PM and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:30AM with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Margaret had many interests and was passionate about them all, but her greatest strength during life was her steadfast faith in God.
Memorials in Margaret's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
