Mrs. Glenn (Margie Amberg) Anderson -Rochester

The visitation for Margie Anderson, age 90, a retired elementary teacher, will be on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Rochester, MN. A private funeral mass will follow with Rev. Tom Loomis officiating. Due to COVID-19 masks are required while attending the visitation and/or service at church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery in Rochester, MN.

Margaret Helen Amberg joined Dad with our Lord God on Sunday, June 21, 2020. She was born February 5, 1930 to W.J. and Helen (Wheelock) Amberg in Waseca, MN. She graduated from Mankato State College. Margie did graduate work at the University of Minnesota and the University of Colorado in Boulder.

She taught in Waseca, St. Peter, Claremont, Owatonna and Rochester until her retirement in 1992.

On June 26, 1954 she married Glenn A. Anderson at Christ The King Church in Medford; he died June 21, 1992. Mr. Anderson worked at IBM in Rochester.

She was involved with Rochester Area Retired Educators, Widowed Person Service, Senior Center, WCCW, St Barbara Rosary Group, Parkinson's and The Serra Club.

Margie is survived by daughter, Margaret Rita Boettiger; son, Glenn Michael (Clara) Anderson; granddaughters, Jordyn (Chase) Arden and Miranda Margaret Anderson and grandson Gabriel Michael Anderson; two sisters, Rita Gomsrud of Mankato, MN, Barbara (Pat) Haberman of Waseca, MN; one sister-in-law, LaVonne Amberg; two brother, Jim (Lorraine) of Wishek, ND and Bill of Duluth; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Wally and Michael, sister-in-laws, Audrey Amberg, Rosie Amberg, and Nancy Amberg; and nephew, Robert Amberg.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Homestead, Season's Hospice and Macken Funeral Home for their care and support.
