Obituary

Marcie Reinhart of 2402 12 th Avenue NW, Rochester MN died on Monday, March 20th.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 4, at 10:30 AM at Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester.  Friends may call at the Church starting at 9:30 AM.  After the Mass, a luncheon will be held in Founder's Hall, with the burial at Calvary Cemetery to follow.

Marcelette Kathern Wiltgen was born on December 24, 1922 on the Wiltgen family farm in Cascade Township, Olmsted County to Edward and Helen (Kipp) Wiltgen.  She was one of four children, two other girls (Dorothy Wiltgen and Marie Grim) and one boy (Ervin Wiltgen).  She attended school first in Cascade Township, later at Saint John's Catholic School, and graduated from Rochester High School in 1941.  She moved to the Saint Paul area after graduating from high school.  She subsequently met Hugo Steven Reinhart (originally from New Ulm) in Saint Paul and married him on April 7, 1947 at the Saint Paul Cathedral.  They lived in Saint Paul, until Hugo was transferred with the US Air Force.  Marcie and Hugo lived in a number of different places in the US, including Anchorage Alaska.  She was an accounting clerk for the US Geological Survey in Alaska.  They adopted their two Canadian-born children, Pam Nellis and Ron Reinhart, while stationed in Alaska.  Hugo retired from the Air Force in 1962 after serving 20 years and they moved back to Rochester.

Marcie and her husband were foster parents for Olmsted County Social Services for seventeen years, accepting over 100 children into their home.  The ages of the children ranged from new born infants to teenagers and stayed with the family for a few days to a few years.  Marcie enjoyed ceramics, needlepoint, antiquing, garage sales, and travel.  Her children looked forward to their special garage sale presents each Christmas!  Marcie worked as a secretary at Saint Pius X School for a number of years, before retiring in 1981.  After retirement, Marcie and Hugo loved to spend as much time as they could each winter in Oahu, Hawaii.  They worked together to take antique wood furniture that was in very rough shape (and sometimes in many pieces) and lovingly restore them.  They were truly a talented team of antique refinishers.  Marcie and Hugo were active members of the Saint Pius Church community, with Marcie serving as a member of Saint Raphael's Guild.

Marcie was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hugo Steven, on June 16, 2003, her son Ron Reinhart (Connie Maier) of Conrad, Montana on October 12, 2015, and her brother and sisters.  She is survived by her daughter Pam Nellis (Randy) of Maple Grove MN and two grandchildren, Kelly & Dan Nellis.
