Mackenzie “Mack”
Andrew Christenson
April 10, 1995 – March 2, 2021
On Tuesday, March 2, 2021 Mackenzie "Mack" Andrew Christenson passed away at the age of 25.
Mack was born on April 10, 1995 in Evanston, IL. He is the son of Dean and Molly Christenson, brother of Abby and Libby Christenson, and uncle of Liam Christenson. He graduated from Stewartville High School in 2013. After graduation, he continued his passion for cooking at Le Cordon Bleu and later joined the Marine Corps in 2015. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Mack worked at Eagle View Bar and Grill and was currently employed at Kwik Trip. He was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 164.
Mack loved to hunt, fish, play soccer, frisbee golf, and hang out with his friends and family, especially his nephew, Liam. Mack was a hard-working guy, devoted truck owner, and very proud of his "well-groomed" beard. He enjoyed working alongside his co-workers, who quickly became friends, throughout his different jobs. He had a vast love for animals which could be seen by the time he spent on his grandparent's farm and caring for his fish aquarium. Mack loved to play video games, which allowed him to stay in contact with many friends from all over the country.
Mack was a humble man and was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and kind compassionate spirit. He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back and did on many occasions. His huge heart had the ability to reach near and far through everyone he met.
Mack is survived by his parents, Dean Christenson and Molly Christenson (Thomas Passe); sisters, Abigail and Elizabeth Christenson; stepsister, Adriahna Hatz; nephew, Liam Christenson; grandparents, George and Diane Christenson, Irene and Fred Burmeister, Gene and Joyce Passe; aunts and uncles, Grant and Katie Christenson, George "Skip" and Sara Christenson, Scott and Annie Haley, Trapper and Krista Burmeister, Emily Burmeister, Jon and Melissa Passe, and Mike and Amy Sladek; and many cousins and friends.
The memorial service for Mack will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Meline officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Military honors will follow the conclusion of the memorial service. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN at a later date.
