Schmitz
August 15, 1948 – June 15, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our wonderful mother Lynda Jean Schmitz. She passed in her sleep early on June 15, 2024. She was active and ambitious right up to the end of her days .
Lynda was born August 15, 1948 in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin to parents Edward and Beverly Wacek. She attended Waupaca High School and went to Dana College and Rochester Community College to become an RN. Lynda was a nurse for 35 years in Austin, Minnesota. She worked in the ICU and then helped to start the cardiac rehab center in 1983. She worked there for many years touching the lives of people in need of cardiovascular rehabilitation.
Lynda's life partner was John Carlin. They spent over 30 fantastic years together. They traveled from sea to sea and visited family and friends. Lynda was a mother of 4. Mike (Michelle), Heather, Sarah and Isaac. Lynda was a joyful mother. She had 7 grandchildren, Oliver, Simon, Owen, Amelia, Huxley, Theo and Web. She came from a large family with 7 kids, Leanne (Roger), Lana (Roy), Rick (Kathy), Randy (Char), Jim (Tammy) and Lori (Mike). She celebrated her relationship with her siblings throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Leanne, and brother-in-law, Roy.
Lynda's life was rich and busy. She had a brilliant, flexible mind and she exercised her brain games daily. If you ever dared to tease or banter with Lynda, you know that the true genius of her mind was best expressed when she would clap back with hilarious comments and quick-witted zingers. She relished in laughter.
Her work ethic was steadfast. Lynda took immaculate care of her beautiful home, got regular exercise and had unwavering integrity with her epic Ebay presence. Lynda has reached Queen status in many areas of her life. She shined in use and never let the dust settle upon her. Lynda took pride in living and walked kindly in this world with dignity. We loved her dearly and she will be sorely missed.
