Lyall L. Wegner of Rochester passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at Saint Marys Hospital.

Lyall Lansford Wegner was born November 23, 1929 in rural Hammond, Minnesota, the son of Earl and Louise (Wilde) Wegner.  He graduated from Rochester High School, and then served in the Air Force including duty overseas in the Philippines during the Korean War.

On September 16, 1951 he married Adeline G. Barr.  He joined Northwestern Bell Telephone in January 1953, and retired from AT & T in 1986.  He was then a partner in G & S Telephone for several years.

Lyall loved visiting with his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed carpentry, hunting, car trips and sports, especially baseball.  Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas B. (Nancy) of Rochester, Jon L. (Doris) of West Fargo, ND; one daughter, Sue E. Madden of Rochester; seven grandsons, one granddaughter and two great grandchildren, two brothers; Ellsworth of Walker, MO, and Wayne (Phyllis) of Pine Island; four sisters, June Vagt of Mazeppa, Phyllis Komisar of Simi Valley, CA, Bernadine (Donald) Duncan of Wabasha and Joyce McCormack of Rochester.  An infant brother and sister preceded him in death along with one sister, Kathyrn Anwiler.
