The funeral for Lowell Arnold will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester will Rev. Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating. The burial will take place at a later date in Watson Creek Cemetery, Preston, MN. Visitations will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening February 9th in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Lowell Clyde Arnold, age 85, of Byron, passed away on February 3, 2019 at his home. He was born in Preston, MN on November 24, 1933 to Ray and Florence (Baker) Arnold.

His first eight years he rode his horse, Teddy, to a one room school house in Watson Creek. He later graduated Preston High School in 1951.

Lowell was Rochester's first Pepsi Route Man. On May 6, 1956, he married Helen Pease and later divorced. Lowell was drafted into the Army and served two years in Atlanta, Georgia. He then returned to Chatfield in 1958 where he raised his family and worked at Farm and Home store in Rochester for fourteen years. He then started selling Life Saving Master Guard systems in which he was the #3 sales person in the United States.

On June 22, 1990, he married Cynthia Ann Thoreson.  In 1992, he retired and drove taxi for his own enjoyment.

Those left to cherish his memory; his loving wife, Cindy of Byron; two sons, Kevin (Pat) of Byron and Kent (Lorrie) of Hayfield; daughter, Kim (Eric) Allore of Mankato; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers and two sisters.
