Loretta Mae Krock, 98, of Stewartville passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017. She was a lifelong resident of the Rochester area and resided at the Stewartville Care Center since 2012.
Loretta was born in Rochester on April 8, 1919 to Bertram and Ellen Stewart. Her father worked for Saint Mary's Hospital as an Engineer for 40 plus years and her mother was a homemaker. Her family also included three sisters and five brothers. She married James Krock in 1958 from the Stewartville area. James worked for the Arnolds Supply Company of Rochester. Loretta worked as a Fashion Coordinator for Arnold's Fashions and Massey's Department Store of Rochester and as a Hostess for Howard Johnson's Restaurant.
Loretta enjoyed her family and her many friends throughout her life. She had many hobbies including oil painting, needlepoint, crocheting, card games and flower gardening. She had an ear for music and loved to play the organ. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Stewartville for many years prior to moving to Rochester.
Loretta was blessed with four sons, Robert (Caron) Gilbert of Minnesota, Gerald McCallum of Florida, John (Joan) McCallum of Minnesota and Thomas (Carol) Bryant of Minnesota. She was also blessed with five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and eleven great, great grandchildren. She was also very thankful for a dear friend Carmen Kasick of Rochester and for her many friends at Fontaine Towers of Rochester where she resided for many years.
Loretta was preceded in her death by her husband, James Krock, in 1992 and her son Robert Gilbert of Rochester in 2016, as well as her father and mother, three sisters, Dorothy Paulson of Rochester, Hazel McIntosh of San Leandro, California, Katherine Sample of Chatfield and her five brothers, Roy, George, Leonard, Richard and Raymond Stewart of Rochester.
The Funeral Service for Loretta will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with the Reverend Heather E. Klason officiating. Visitation will start one hour before the service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Online condolences are welcome at www.mackenfuneralhome.com
