Lois J. Nelson died Friday, August 10, 2018 at her home of natural causes.

Lois was born on October 4, 1932 in Melville Township, Renville, MN to Raymond and Dorothy Emmerson. She grew up on the family farm and went to country school.

She married Donald Rolsch in 1949 in Olivia, MN. They moved to Zumbro Falls, MN shortly after their marriage. They had three children, Barbara, William, and Diane. In 1976, her husband died from an automobile accident on his way home from work.

During her life, Lois worked at Waters-Connely in the sewing room at Mayo Clinic and Pace Dairy. On February 14, 1982, she married Richard Nelson in the Zumbro Lutheran Church Chapel. She enjoyed vacation trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Arizona, Florida, Washington D.C., and New York City. She also liked flower gardening and visiting with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her husband; three children, Barbara (Leon) Mehrkens of Mazeppa, MN, William (Pat) Rolsch of Blaine, MN, and Diane (Jim) Brown of Stewartville, MN; a sister, Dianna (Tom) Roozen of Rapidan, MN. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jill Mehrkens, Jaime Mehrkens, Josh Mehrkens, Melanie Rolsch, Heather Hogness, Stacy Theobald, Shannon Brown, Brian Brown, and Brandon Brown; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donald; sisters, Norma, Shirley, and Helen; and a grandson, Brent Rolsch.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15th in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Lisa Kipp of Zumbro Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in River Park Chapel with a luncheon to follow. Inurnment of Lois's ashes will be held in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
