Linda Marie Frie of Rochester, died unexpectedly at her home of a short-term illness on Wednesday, September 30, 2015.

Linda was born in Rochester on June 16, 1948 to Glenn and Irene Wading.  She was a graduate of Mayo High School and studied business at the Rochester Community College.   She married Bill Frie and was later divorced.  Linda briefly worked at Mayo Clinic, and then the Rochester Art Center, from which she retired following 20 years of service.

Linda enjoyed living on Lake Zumbro where she was active in the Lake Zumbro Restoration Organization.  She was a lover of animals, especially cats. Linda was known to adopt may strays, both in Cabo San Lucas, and Rochester.

Survivors include her daughter, Christina Frie of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; her life-partner of 25 years, Karl Schuller; brother, Rick Wading of Rochester and sister, Simone Villeneuve of California.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda was a wonderful mother, sister and friend.  Her vivacious spirit and kind heart will be missed by all.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2:00-5:00PM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.  A private family service and burial at Oakwood Cemetery are scheduled at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to Lake Zumbro Forever or Rochester Art Center.
