Leslie “Ozzie”
Crawley
March 29, 1944 – January 22, 2019
Leslie Earl Crawley, age 74 of Rochester, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side at his residence on January 22, 2019.
Ozzie was born on March 29, 1944 in Spokane, WA to Darryl and Delores (Holloway) Crawley. At a young age, his family moved to the Rochester area. Following graduation from John Marshall High School he enlisted in the US Army and began his military career. He served three tours during the Vietnam War and was stationed in various places including Germany, Korea, and Laos. After proudly serving for over twenty five years in the US Army, he retired as Sergeant. Upon returning to Rochester, he later married Leonida "Nida" Valencia in 1996. Ozzie was a 32nd Degree member of the Masonic Temple as a Freemason, and was also a Shriner. He loved coin collecting, fishing and listening to Oldies and Country music.
He is survived by his wife, Nida of Rochester; daughter, Hannah (Ra) So of Rochester and her mother, Chom Hair; his sister, Kathleen Stutz of Rochester; grandchildren, Tayvahn, Sasha, and Xander; and brother-in-law, Tony (Marife) Giron and their daughter, Amariane of Rochester.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sharon Walker; and his brother, Danny Crawley.
The Funeral Mass for Ozzie will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Resurrection Catholic Church with Rev. Peter Schuster officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.
