Lee Sherwin Evans, 84 of Rochester died on December 16, 2019 at Rochester Health East Nursing Home.

Lee was born on July 21, 1935 in Rochester, MN to Harry and Ruth (Moe) Evans. He married Bonnie Garber in 1957 and they lived in Rochester with their three girls. Lee worked as a buyer in Purchasing at IBM Rochester. After Bonnie's death in 1990, he retired after over 30yrs with IBM, and became a Fishing Guide on Leech Lake in Walker, MN. He married Nyckie (Hower) Wobig in 1997 and continued to live in Rochester. Lee's passions included hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, playing cards, golfing, dancing and biking. He was a 53yr member of the Rochester Elks Lodge and served in the US Navy.

Lee's parents Harry and Ruth, and his wife Bonnie and his sister-in-law Eileen Evans preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Nyckie of Rochester, his daughters Lynn (Craig) Holets of Rochester, MN, Lisa (Scott) Jorgenson of Boulder Junction, WI, Tracy Thornton of Bend, OR, his brother Bruce Evans of Columbia Heights, MN, (and his children) grandchildren Stefan (Chrissy) Holets, Evan (Kayla) Holets, Kristen Holets, Sina Jorgenson, Sara Jorgenson, Kylee Thornton three great-grandchildren, his brother-in-law Donald (Janice) Hower, three step-children Lori (Marshall) Michels of Rochester, Jerry Deno of Dodge Center, Craig (Dawn) Deno of Byron, step grandchildren Levi (Katie) DeRouin, Jesse DeRouin, and three step great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service officiated by Scott Jorgenson, with Military Honors, will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019. Meet at the gates of Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester at 11:00AM.
