Obituary

The Funeral Mass for Lawrence "Larry" Desmond Crooks will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lasuba officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.

Mr. Crooks, 84, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Larry was born on July 23, 1928 to Lawrence and Mary (Mohan) Crooks in Washington England.

He married Audrey Johnson on July 7, 1956 at St. Marys Church in Sunderland England.  He served with the Royal Air Force from 1945 to 1947.  He came to the United States in 1959.  He worked for National Cash Register (NCR).  He owned and operated a portrait studio for 21 years along with his wife Audrey.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; children, Steve (Cynthia) of Mahtomedi, Des of Eugene, Oregon, Ian (Cindy) of Austin, Texas, Diane of Rochester and Gwen (Tim) of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; 13 lovely grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Patricia.  He was predeceased by his sister Theresa.

Larry loved his family, woodworking, gardening, photography and music.  He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church.
