The funeral for LaVonne Crissman will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the River Park Chapel at Macken funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce Buller officiating.  Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crissman, 87, of Rochester, Minnesota, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth.

LaVonne was born September 5, 1923 in Doland, South Dakota to Wallace and Belva Linderman.  The family moved to Racine, Minnesota in 1931.  She graduated from Stewartville High School and went on to attend business college in Winona, Minnesota.

LaVonne married Kenneth G. Crissman, Sr. in October of 1942 at Fort Meade, Maryland.  The couple moved to Minnesota after the war and later to Rochester where they resided for 60 years.

LaVonne retired from Mayo Clinic as a medical secretary after 40 years of service.

Survivors include her two sons, Kenneth G. Crissman, Jr. (Connie) of Strongsville, Ohio and John W. Crissman (Mary) of San Diego, California; two sisters, Jeanne (James) Parker of Silver Spring, Maryland and Ruth Berg of Grand Forks, North Dakota; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 1994 and sister, Naomi Cutler in 2008.
