The memorial service for Krystyna E. Wesolowsky will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester. Rev. Paul Nelson will be officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2014 and at the church, one hour prior to Friday's service.
Mrs. Wesolowsky, 78, of Rochester, passed away from cancer at her home on Sunday, February 2, 2014. Krystyna was born July 8, 1935 in Latchorzew, Poland. She was born to parents Boleslaw and Felicja Biedrzycki. Krystyna received a two-year economics degree and worked as head bookeeper for an oil refinery in Poland. She moved to Chicago, IL in 1984, and then settled in Rochester, MN in 1985. In 1987, she married Gabriel "Wes" Wesolowsky. Mr. Wesolowsky preceded Krystyna in death on October 1, 1991.
Krystyna is survived by her son Zbigniew (Barbara) Jeznach of Rochester; grandson Thomas Jeznach and granddaughter Gosha (Greg) Weivoda, of Rochester; great grandchildren Nya, Aviv and Julian Weivoda; sister Daniela Marciniak of Poland; sister-in-law Natalia Garcia of Chicago; niece Joanna Biedrzycka of Chicago; two nephews Jacek Marciniak of Toronto, Canada and Robert Biedrzycki of Poland. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jurek Biedrzycki, nephew Darek Biedrzycki, and niece Jagoda Hernik.
Krystyna was a generous, caring, and compassionate person who loved spending time with her family, especially her three great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, gardening, frequenting the YMCA, and yoga. She also loved her Rat Terrier/Chihuahua, Mika. To many in the Polish community in Rochester, Krystyna was a grandmother to many whose families are so far away. Krystyna was a member of Saint Pius X Catholic Church.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
