Krystyna received a two-year economics degree and worked as head bookeeper for an oil refinery in Poland. She moved to Chicago, IL in 1984, and then settled in Rochester, MN in 1985. In 1987, she married Gabriel "Wes" Wesolowsky. Mr. Wesolowsky preceded Krystyna in death on October 1, 1991.

Krystyna was a generous, caring, and compassionate person who loved spending time with her family, especially her three great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, gardening, frequenting the YMCA, and yoga. She also loved her Rat Terrier/Chihuahua, Mika. To many in the Polish community in Rochester, Krystyna was a grandmother to many whose families are so far away. Krystyna was a member of Saint Pius X Catholic Church.
