Kevin R. Burkhart, age 51, of Blooming Prairie, MN passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, of heart failure at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Austin, MN.

Kevin was born on October 18, 1969, in Rochester and attended school in Rochester and Byron.  He went on to obtain his Building Utilities Maintenance degree at Riverland Community College in Rochester, and he was a boiler operator for many years.  Kevin enjoyed fishing, muscle cars, his Harley, and his many exotic pets, especially his tortoise, Speedy.  He loved the outdoors and spending time at the cabin in Crosslake, MN.

Kevin is survived by his fiancé, Lori Burkhart of Blooming Prairie and his children, Camarie (Watani) King-Harris of Tuson, AZ, Kaila (Michael DeWeese) Burkhart of Janesville, Cody Burkhart of Rochester, and Josie Pfieffer of Albert Lea and 5 grandchildren; his mother, Judy (Bennett) Bungum of Rochester and father Richard (Pauline) Burkhart of Dodge Center; sisters, Linda (Bobby O'Brien) Fjerstad, Bonnie (Chad Tilford) Redman, and Janet (Neil) Fjerstad.  Along with many aunts & uncles and nieces & nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his infant son, Brandon; stepfather, Knute Bungum; stepbrother, Randy Bungum; and many other loved ones.

There will be a Memorial Gathering from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester.
