Kenneth M.
Miller
June 15, 1946 – December 10, 2023
Kenneth "Ken" Miller, age 77, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 10 th , 2023. Ken was born in Willmar, MN to Glenn and Edith Miller. Ken married Bonnie Olson, his high school sweetheart, at a little country church in Grove City, MN. They made their home and raised their two children in Rochester, MN. They were blessed to be married for 59 years this month.
Ken worked in car sales and later in financial services sales. He also donated over 21 gallons of blood and was always recruiting others to give blood to help those in need. Ken was kindhearted, had a quick wit, and was a friend to many. He enjoyed nature, animals, and long walks in the woods. He always said that nature was God's Creation and that we should care for it faithfully. Ken was a writer and wrote many poems about nature and his walk with Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He would create his poetry on any scrap of paper he could find, such as magazine inserts, restaurant napkins, and backs of envelopes. Several of his poems were published and he would rarely change the words after the first writing – the words just flowed for him. He was a long-time member of Autumn Ridge Church and helped in Sunday school, ushering, and was part of the choir, including the Christmas Quartet.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Bonnie; children Cindy (Randy) Hoffert and Thomas Miller; grandchildren Anna (Andrew) Kerlee, Laura Hoffert, Emily Miller, and Zachary Miller; four great-grandchildren; his sister Marilyn (Brent) Fischer and his brother Phillip Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roger Miller and Wesley Miller.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 15 th , 2023, at Autumn Ridge Church, 3611 Salem Road SW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2pm at the church.
