The funeral service for Kathryn Louise Greene will be at 1:00 p.m.  Thursday, January 6, 2011 at the Macken Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Pastor Richard D. Phillips officiating.  Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery in Douglas, Minnesota later in the spring.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 on Thursday at Macken Funeral Home.

Mrs. Greene, 98, of Pine Island, Minnesota, formerly of Douglas, Minnesota, died Monday, January 03, 2011 at Pine Haven Nursing Home in Pine Island, Minnesota.

Kathryn was born July 31, 1912 in New Haven Township, Minnesota to Albert Kohn and Lizzie Fieck.  She married Walter Greene in Douglas, Minnesota.  The couple lived in Douglas their entire married life.  Kathryn continued to live in Douglas after the passing of Walt in 1981.  For the past several years, she has resided at Pine Haven Nursing Home.

Kathryn worked for many years as a housekeeper at the Kahler Hotel.

Memorials are preferred to the Pine Haven Nursing Home or Heartland Hospice.
