Kathlyn LaVonne (Sturgis) McIntosh Horton, age 97, died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Zumbrota Care Center.

Kathlyn was born June 5, 1922 in Chatfield, MN to William and Rhoda (Bernard) Sturgis. She was united in marriage to Paul McIntosh October 10, 1938 in Iowa, and to this union 3 children were born. Paul preceded her in death in 1975. She married Merritt Horton September 15, 1979 in Wabasha, MN. Merrit died in 1983. In her later years, she traveled south every winter to Arizona and Gulf Shores, AL. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, and traveling. Above all she loved spending time with her family.

Kathlyn in survived by her children: Gary (Vicki) McIntosh of Byron, and Karen McIntosh of Wabasha; son-in-law: Richard Streiff of Wabasha; grandchildren: April (Mike) Shappell of Kasson, John McIntosh of Kasson, Julie Streiff (Rory Brown) of Baldwin, WI, Lisa Robers of Baldwin, WI, Bob (Wendy) Streiff of Trego, WI, and Karla Klemme (David Ball) of Rice Lake, WI; 12 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Daryl (Geri) Sturgis of Rochester.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Paul McIntosh, and Merritt Horton; daughter, Sally Streiff; and grandson Paul McIntosh; brothers: Harold, Carl, Kenneth; and sister, Eileen.

A funeral service will be held Monday, October 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN, with Rev. Lester Horntvedt officiating.
