Kathleen "Kate" Flynn, of Rochester, passed away on June 2, 2016.

Kate was born on May 26, 1935 in Osakis, Minnesota to Raymond Flynn and Katherine (Clarity) Flynn.  She was a graduate of Saint Catherine College and joined the Rochester Franciscan Community of Sisters.  She taught Catholic Elementary School as a Sister and then in the Pine Island School District for 20 years.  She earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Counseling and became the Elementary Counselor for the Elementary School for another 20 years. She was named both as the Teacher of the Year in the school district, and Counselor of the Year for the Southeast Minnesota School Counselors Association.

Kate enjoyed playing her saxophone, camping, fishing, golfing, swimming, and other activities

She is survived by a sister Helen Swore, a brother Richard Flynn, good friend Fr. Robert Stamschror, along with many nieces and nephews in serveral generations.  Kate was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Frisvold, and brother Patrick Flynn.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Pax Christi Catholic Church at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.  Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00AM at the church prior to the Mass.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

Memorials are preferred to the Gift of Life House in Rochester.
