Karin Larson-Purves, 87, of Rochester, Minn., died peacefully Friday, May 17, 2024, surrounded by her two children at Country Cottage in Plainview, Minn.

Karin was born April 27, 1937, in St. Paul, Minn., to Charles and Laura Nelson. She attended Rochester High School and graduated from St Louis Park High school in 1955. She went on to the University of Minnesota and became a Dental Hygienist. She worked for Dr Anthony Lund, in a Pediatric dental practice in Rochester for most of her career. On July 13 ^th , 1957, she married Keith Larson, in St. Louis Park, Minn. In 1979, the couple moved to Wabasha, Minn. After living on the river for many years she returned to Rochester. In 2005 she married Ray Purves.

Karin was an avid seamstress. Loved to ski and travel the world. She had wonderful trips with her lifelong traveling friends.  She was small but mighty and loved by all.

She is survived by her children, Laura (Rick) Peterson of Rochester, Minn. and Chris Larson of Wabasha, Minn.; granddaughter Danielle (Brian) Mallaro of Lakeville, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Logan Mallaro; sister Georgeann (Don) Bell of Excelsior, Minn.; Sister-in-law Nancy Nelson of Eden Prairie, Minn.; best friend, Delone Schuster of Rochester, Minn., along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Purves, her parents and brother, Charles Nelson.

A very special thanks to Jamie Ratz and the care providers at Country Cottage. The care Karin and the family received was beyond exceptional.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Zumbro Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
