Karen Marie Sievers

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Marie Sievers, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Karen passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Madonna Towers Nursing Facility in Rochester, MN. She was 82 years old.

Karen was born on July 12, 1944, in Slayton, MN to William and Irene (Oiom) Wahl. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1962. On June 19, 1965, she married Arlo Sievers at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Dovray, MN, where Karen was baptized and confirmed. They had three children: Tamera, Daniel and Douglas. They first lived in Slayton, MN for several years, until they purchased a farm in Dundee, MN. They lived there most of their lives while farming crops and raising livestock. Upon retirement, they bought a home in Rochester, MN.

Karen enjoyed baking, gardening, house plants, word search puzzles, country music, hummingbirds and spending time with family. She also enjoyed their pet dogs and parakeets. Karen was so kind and patient, and will be missed deeply.

Survivors include her husband Arlo, her daughter Tamera Christian and husband Skip, her son Daniel Sievers, her son Douglas Sievers and wife Tammy, four grandchildren: Jessica (Cory) Krahn, Kody Handt, Megan (Mitch) Holthaus, Annabelle Sievers, one foster granddaughter, Shaunette Butler, and two great-grandchildren: Kai Krahn and Clara Holthaus. She is preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2026, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Burial will be at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Dovray, MN on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
