Joyce M. (Brown) Wieseler, 76, died on January 28th, 2017 in Rochester, MN after a 3 week battle with pancreatic cancer.

Joyce Marie Bacon was born on May 30th, 1940 in Fountain, MN to Clayton and Doris (Winslow) Bacon. Her family moved to Rochester, MN when she was 13 years old. Joyce graduated from Rochester High School in 1958. She worked for US West Telephone Company from 1958-1992 as a long distance telephone operator.

Joyce was married to John N. Brown from 1960 until his death in 1982. On August 10, 1996 Joyce married Francis A. Wieseler of Rochester, MN.

She is survived by her husband, Francis; son, Michael Brown of Fayetteville, AR; daughter, Valerie (Jeff) Coe of Rochester, MN; two step-children, Dwayne (Mary Jo) Wieseler of Glencoe, MN and Karla (Elmer) Knockel of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren and one step-granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include: Darrell (Lois) Bacon of Chatfield, MN, Duaine (Bernie) Bacon of Fountain, MN and Gerald "Jerry" Bacon of New Market, MN.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, John and a grandson, Cory Johnson.

Joyce was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church in Rochester, MN and was also a member of the Telephone Pioneer Club. She enjoyed playing spider solitaire on her computer, word finds, canasta, backgammon, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Joyce was a wonderful, caring, selfless woman and will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Mass will begin at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Resurrection Catholic Church with Rev. Shawn Haremza officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Thursday. Burial will be at Fountain Cemetery in Fountain, MN.
