John "Jack" Thomas Brossard
John Brossard, 75, of Chester, IA died Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Allison Rehab Center in Allison, IA after a battle with cancer.
John was born July 31, 1946 to James and Evelyn (Munsch) Brossard at his grandparents' home near Pine Island, MN. He grew up on the family dairy farm near Mantorville, MN. Jack attended country schools during his elementary years. He graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 1964. He attended DeVries Tech and Dunwoody Institute for electronics.
Jack was drafted into the army in November of 1966 serving 2 years. He served 1 year in Vietnam in an artillery unit. After his discharge from the army, he started working in building construction and worked as a carpenter for the rest of his life.
He enjoyed watching football and Nascar races. He liked gardening and working around the yard. He especially enjoyed family reunions and liked visiting with the nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack enjoyed having a beer with his pals from time to time. He was a true Patriot – always concerned about protecting the ideals of our country.
He is survived by his 8 brothers, James, Joseph, Phillip, Edward, Anthony, Keith, Kevin, and Brian and his 4 sisters, Catherine, Rita, Tammara, Sherri. He's also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, James and Evelyn Brossard, and brothers, Robert, and David.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN with the Rev. Russell Scepaniak officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be in St. Margaret's Cemetery in Mantorville, MN with military honors provided by Byron American Legion immediately following the service.
