John Edward Sneve, Sr., 75, of Rochester, passed away after a short illness on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Mayo Clinic – St. Marys Hospital.

John was born September 27, 1943 to Rudoph and Lillian (Schnorenberg) Sneve.

John married Catherine Shanahan and they were later divorced. On August 9, 1994, he married Doris Starkson in Meade County, South Dakota.

John worked in Lake City Fountry and later became a union carpenter. John was a member of Carpenter's Local 1382 and was the President of Local 1382 for 29 years from 1974 to 2003. John enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and reading.

He is survived by his children, John Jr., Julie and Tyler all of Rochester, and Sam (Rachel) of Woodbury; grandchildren, Lyllian Chaney Smith and Airika Sneve; and brother, James.

Memorials are preferred to Eagle Cancer Telethon or Zumbro Lutheran Church.

Memorial service will be will held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29th at Zumbro Lutheran Church with Pastor Lisa Kipp officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
