John G. Neylon, 80, of Rochester, died peacefully at his home on December 13th, 2016
He was born September 6, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa to John D and Martha Neylon. He attended Dowling High School in Des Moines and St. Benedicts College in Atchison, KS. He served three years in the Marine Corp.
John was the retired owner of Custom Printing and Mailing CO. located in De Soto, IA.
He was married to Shirley Prieast at St. John's Catholic Church in 1961 and they made their home in Des Moines. They spent summers at their cabin on Hinds Lake in Park Rapids, MN.
In 2009, they moved to Rochester. They were members of Resurrection Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Resurrection Catholic Church. Visitation is at 5:00PM to 7:30PM on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at a later date at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, son, Tim (Jenny) of Rochester, daughter, Jennifer of Eyota, grandchildren; Hunter, Jake and Jackie, brother, Jim of Knoxville, IA, and his beloved dog, Roxie.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be directed to his church or Channel One food bank.
The family also wants to express gratitude to the doctors and staff at the NE Clinic Dialysis Unit for their care and affection for John these past three and a half years.
