John David Coleman, age 82, passed away Monday October 9, 2023 as a result of a mix of health concerns.  He was surrounded by family and his special friend/companion, Gae.

John was born August 27 ^th , 1941, in Rochester, MN to Joseph and Catherine Coleman.  He was a graduate of Lourdes High School and Rochester Junior College.  In 1992, John earned a Mini MBA from The University of St. Thomas. John enjoyed a successful 32-year career with IBM.  His career was interrupted for a short time with service to our country in the US Army.  After his 1994 retirement from IBM, John enjoyed another 20 years providing financial planning services for clients under the New England Financial / Mid America Financial umbrella.

John met Pamela Young, and they were married on September 4, 1965. Their son, Steve, was born in 1966.

In May 2023 John relocated to Rio Rancho, NM from Green Valley, AZ to be closer to his son, Steve, and his family.

John was loved by his faith community both in Rochester, MN and Green Valley, AZ. John was the Coleman family's photographer and historian. He was a great listener and enjoyed meeting others. John enjoyed the company of many on the golf course as well as conversations relate to the current events and politics.

John David Coleman was predeceased by his wife, Pamela Ann Coleman, parents Joseph and Catherine Coleman, twin sister Jane (Thomas) Coleman, brother, Richard (Betty) Coleman, sister-in-law, Sandra Coleman.  John is survived by his son, Steve (Wynne) of Rio Rancho, NM and blessed with two granddaughters, Gabrielle "Gabby" and Catherine "Catie", brother, Jim (Lilly) of Hilton Head, SC., brother-in-law Thomas Thomas of Bloomington, MN.

The Memorial Mass will be held at Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (11 4th Ave. SW Rochester, MN) on Saturday, November 18, 2023 with Father Thomas Loomis officiating. Visitation at the church will start at 9:00 am. The Mass will begin at 10:30 am. Cremation burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
