Joan L. (Crettol) Poleschuk

Joan, age 90, of Rochester, died at the Stewartville Care Center early Wednesday morning, December 11, 2024, after a short stay.

She was born July 10, 1934, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of LeRoy and Melba (Beckman) Crettol. She had two brothers and two sisters. Joan met her future husband, Nicholas Poleschuk, at White Sands Proving Grounds where he was stationed in the Army, and she was a secretary for their unit. They were married on April 24, 1954, in Wheaton, IL and moved to Michigan. Joan lived in Farmington, MI until the death of her husband in December 2016. She then moved to Rochester, MN in 2017 to live with her son Nicholas Jr and his wife Mary.

Joan is survived by her devoted sons, Nicholas (Mary) and LeRoy (Judy); grandchildren, Charles, Nicholas III, Christine (Kyle) Sorenson, LeRoy Jr., Cheryl (Dan) Jakaitis and Brian; great grandsons, Desmond Sorenson, Oscar Sorenson and Charlie Jakaitis; and sister Janet (Will) Johnesee.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, 1105 12th Street SE, Rochester, MN 55904, with a visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. before the service.
