A memorial service will be held Friday, November 8 ^th, 2013 at 1:30pm, with visitation starting at 12:30, at River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home with Rev. James Russell will be officiating the memorial service.

Jerry was born February 16 ^th , 1929, in Philip S.D. He moved from Yankton, S.D, to Rochester after graduation. He worked for People's Co-Op Power where he developed lasting friendships with many of his co-workers.  He retired after 41 years of dedicated service. In 1950, Jerry married Allene Lamey and they raised nine children.  They were members of St. Francis Church and later, Resurrection Parish. They resided in Rochester until January 2011 when they moved to Kenyon.

He is predeceased by his oldest daughter Charlotte (Steve) Bartel, his brother Rex, and sister JoAnne.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Allene, of 63 years. Surviving children are Michael of Florida, daughter-in-law Rita of Kenyon, Beth of Texas, David of Farmington, Roger (Renee) of Rochester, Gail (Mike Derouin) of Lanesboro, Donna (Robert)Lahtinen of Arizona, Dan (Lynn) of Rochester, Diane (Mark)Schlaefer of Colorado; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his 2 brothers Kenneth (Bernice) and Leroy (Elaine) both of Yankton, SD.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, lapidary, and the outdoors. He and Allene travelled to Arizona, Hawaii, and Mexico and enjoyed drives on country back roads. They spent many summers by the Mississippi at Read's Landing.

Memorials are preferred to Faribault Hospice.
