Jennifer was born June 1st, 1975, in Hartford, CT to Alfred and Anne (Rukus) Tracy. She graduated from Northwest Catholic High School, Hartford in 1993, followed by undergraduate studies in biology and psychology at Harvard University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1997. Having spent a year working for a suicide prevention helpline, Jen entered the School of Medicine, University of Connecticut in 1998. Following her graduation in 2002, Dr Tracy undertook residency training in Neurology (graduating in 2006) followed by 3 years of subspecialty fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine, electrophysiology and muscle disease pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and Mayo Clinic, Rochester. She was a consultant in the Department of Neurology, Mayo Clinic, from 2009 until 2023. Dr Tracy was best known professionally as a profoundly knowledgeable, diligent, and also kind and compassionate physician and teacher of students, residents and fellows. Despite her 3-year illness she remained academically active, completing her final of many contributions to the medical literature just 2 weeks before her passing.
On September 26th, 2009, Jen married Andrew McKeon at Memorial Church, Harvard University. She loved to spend time with family, cooking, baking and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, children (Marianne, Alison and Louisa McKeon), mother, brothers (James Tracy, Coos Bay, OR and John Tracy, Hartford, CT), parents- and sisters-in-law (Patrick, Mary, and Catherine McKeon and Ruth McAllister, all of Dublin, Ireland), and extended family in the USA, Ireland, UK and Spain. She is predeceased in death by her father Alfred Tracy.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, at the Co-Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, Rochester with Rev. Msgr. Gerald Mahon officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2nd, 2023 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
