Jennifer Robin (Bird) Smith Talbot, 51 of Northfield passed away on Thursday May 21st at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. 

Jennifer Robin (Bird) Smith Talbot was born to Timothy Smith and Kim Thomas on Nov. 12th, 1974 in Seminole, OK.

Jen graduated high school from Minneola High School, she then attended Fort Hays State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 1997.Jen was someone who carried through life lighting up every room that she was in. She had a deep love for her family and the friends that she made. Jen was married to Anthony Talbot and they had four children together. She had a tremendous love for her children and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could, often staying up late to watch their favorite shows or movies with them. Jen also began a career at her children’s school working in community education to help the local Pine Island community by setting up events, sports, and after school child care. She loved working with children and helping them to feel more included in their communities and she was a beloved employee of the school making many friends and again spending more time being directly involved with her children’s lives. This position at the school gave Jen much needed purpose and a way to direct her lively personality to help community members and children alike. In her later years, after separating with her husband, in Fall of 2022 she found connection with her boyfriend Matt Munroe and they bonded over mutual support. They would enjoy going to concerts, comedy shows and spending nights making dinner for each other and watching movies, tv shows. In these later years she had aspirations to work in special education or potentially school administration. Jen was loved for her caring nature, love of life, and dynamite personality until the day she was called home.

She is survived by her parents: Timothy Smith and Kim Thomas. Her siblings: TJ Smith, Stephanie (Tom) Anderson Lauren (Jeremy) Thomas-Martin and Jeremy Thomas. Her children: Garrett Talbot, Robin Talbot, Shelby Talbot and McKinley Talbot. And her boyfriend Matt Munroe. 

She is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Max and Althea Boling, uncle Steven Boling and aunt Lauren Wilmoth. Her doting Nonnie and PaPa Smith (paternal grandparents). Lovingly she is survived by her aunts, Janet (Smith) and Sherry (Smith) Bryant.
