Jason Hegge, born on September 27, 1966, in Spring Valley, Minnesota, and passed away on July 15, 2026, after a brief illness, leaving a profound and irreplaceable void in the lives of those who loved him. Jason lived with steadiness, humility, and a deep commitment to family, values that shaped every part of his life.
Jason grew up in Grand Meadow, son of Patricia (Murphy) and Vernon Hegge, brother to Judy (Pat) Stier, Jim (Elaine) Hegge, Jean (Joe) Stier, Jeff (Jeannie) Hegge, and Jerry (Tammie) Hegge.
Jason was very proud of his career path in the pharmaceutical field and in aviation industry. He built strong, valued teams as a leader and took pride in delivering a high level of service and consistently exceeding expectations. His colleagues knew him as someone who led with integrity, clarity, and genuine care for the people he worked alongside.
Jason loved his time with family, following motor sports, and enjoying his own collection of motorcycles. In good weather, always asking Ellen to “go for a putt.” His furry boys, Loki and Bandit, were constant partners on vacations, rides in his truck, and could also be found in the kitchen underfoot any time he was cooking.
Jason will be deeply missed by those family members surviving him, including his wife Ellen, daughter Mandy (Chad, Jesse and Jase), son Zach (Samantha, Lilly, Loxlynn, and Ella), son Jake, son Brenden (Jasmine), son Alex, and son Logan (Dana), and grandson Finley. Jason and Ellen were very proud to blend their individual lives into one family and commit to their intention that their children were loved and supported. Affirming that in their family there were no step children or in-laws, only sons and daughters. He is also survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Jason is preceded in death by his son Joshua, his parents Patricia and Vernon, sister Jean, and brother Jeff.
Jason’s legacy is one of dedication, loyalty, and hard work. He lived with intention, showing love through action, offering support without hesitation, and creating a home with Ellen where their children and grandchildren felt loved and valued. His presence made life steadier, and his absence will be felt greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
The family would love memorials to those organizations that Jason and Ellen strongly support, including Salt and Light Partners, Salvation Army Rochester and Rochester Area Foundation.
