James K. Holtz, 93, of Rochester, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 peacefully at St. Marys Hospital, with family at his side.

Jim was born March 11, 1926 in Doon, Iowa to Arthur and Fayth Holtz.

He married Delphine Girard on August 18, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa. They lived and had three children in Iowa before moving to Minnesota in the summer of 1957.

Jim served in the U.S. Army during World War II and has been a member of the Kasson Legion for over 60 years. Jim worked as a carpenter most of his life with great enjoyment.

He also enjoyed family times at the family cabin in Lake Okoboji, Iowa.

Jim is survived by his wife, Delphine of 74 years; two daughters, Cindy (Mike) Boruff of Kasson and Theresa Eversole, of Texas; two brothers, Marvin (Brenda) Holtz of Lawton, Iowa and Lewis Holtz of Sioux City, Iowa; five sisters, Betty of Sioux City, Iowa, Darlene of Litchfield, Minnesota, Carol of Denver, Colorado, Judy of Litchfield, Minnesota, and Mary Jane of Sioux City, Iowa;  six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son, James (Greg) Holtz; a granddaughter, Alicia K Reeder; seven brothers, Arthur, Bob, Allen, Harlan, Dale, Mevin, and Jon; and sister Janet Doyle.

Jim's service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 27 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, in Rochester.

Memorials in honor of Jim can be made to the American Cancer Society.
