Obituary

James "Jim" Frederick Hayft, 73, of Rochester, Minnesota born November 3, 1935 died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital.  Survived by wife Sheran of Rochester, MN, son Greg (Sheila) Hayft of Rochester, MN and daughter Teresa (Dan) Mesenbrink of Oakdale, MN, grandchildren Kyle, Amanda, Tatum, Cameryn and Macyn and brothers Marvin Hayft of Byron, MN, Frank (Joan) Hayft of Rochester, MN and sisters Mary (Philip) Geraldi of Richmond Hill, NY and Anne (Jerry) Eastman of Rochester, MN.

Mr. Hayft was preceded in death by parents Charles and Mabel Hayft and brother Chuck Hayft.

Jim and Sheran (Walker) were married on June 23, 1965.  Mr. Hayft worked at Montgomery Wards.  He then worked at Kresge's until they closed, Sadler Properties and Apache Mall Maintenance.  Jim and Sheran were members of the Resurrection Catholic Church.

Jim enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino but most importantly his passion and greatest interest was his grandkids.

A special thanks to Mayo Hospice and the nurses of St. Marys 3rd floor Joseph for their loving care and help during this time.

A funeral mass service will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
