The visitation for James Friedrich will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Friedrich, 79, of Rochester, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at his home.

James was born August 1, 1931 in Marion Township to Ceasar and Hilda Friedrich.  On July 11, 1953, he married Jane E. Hanson.

James worked at the Rochester Chick Hatchery in Rochester for 11 years, and as a machine operator at Marigold Dairy for 29 years.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jane; one daughter, Roxanne (Michael W.) Robinson; three grandchildren, Jeanna (Daren Kaster) Friedrich, Bill (Toshia Bjerke) Robinson and Jessica Latterell;  and one great-grandchild, Nolan James Robinson.  He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Raymond, his parents and five sisters and four brothers (Paul, John, Phillip, Daniel, Elda, Mary, Martha, Anna and Esther.)

James enjoyed fishing and vacationing out West, up North and in Mexico.  He also enjoyed riding his scooters, watching his great-grandson "Nolan" and the Minnesota Twins.
