Obituary

Irene Yngsdal, 83, of Hayfield, MN, died Wednesday July 27, 2016, peacefully in her home with her children by her side. Born March 26, 1933 in rural Mower Co, Minnesota, Irene was the daughter of Albert and Aletta Bolstad.

She grew up in Mower County and attended country school. On June 14, 1952 she married Gordon Yngsdal at Evanger Lutheran Church in Sargeant. Irene retired in 1994 from working in the food industry at Hayfield High School.

She enjoyed making lefsa and krumkake for her family, playing solitaire and going to local flea markets along with spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Sheila) of the Philippines, Bruce of Hayfield, Ricky of Glendale, Calif., Cindy (Barry) Hovey of Austin and Jeff of Rochester; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and her sister Adeline Sanvick of Hayfield along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gordon Yngsdal, a brother Victor Bolstad and a granddaughter Sonya.

The funeral for Irene L. Yngsdal will be held on Monday August 1, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield, MN at 2 pm, with Pastor Paul Hauschild officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. A private burial of Irene's ashes will occur later that afternoon at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester, MN.
