Irene M Stopyro, 95, of Rochester MN passed away at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Fillmore County on June 21, 1929, to Willie and Elvira (Uden) Grindland. She was raised in Rushford and attended the Grindland School through the eighth grade. She graduated from Rushford High School in 1947 and married John Stopyro on August 20, 1950.

Irene is survived by her children Nancy Leon of Brooklyn Park MN, James Stopyro of Rochester MN, Mark Stopyro of Zumbro Falls MN, Mary McBride of Graham WA, Edward Stopyro of Lake Elsinore CA, Laura Stopyro of Rochester MN, and Annie Stopyro of Albuquerque NM.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, daughter Elizabeth Hawley, sisters Eleanor Dahle, Minerva Milde, Edel Brand and two brothers William and Arthur Grindland.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
