The funeral Mass for Irene M. Griffin will be 10:00am Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. John Lasuba officiating.  Burial will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery in Simpson.

Mrs. Griffin 89, died Saturday July 10th at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.

She was born September 10, 1920 in Bristo, Iowa.  The family moved to the Stewartville where she was raised and on May 29, 1952 she married Joseph Griffin at St. Bridget's Church. Irene did domestic work for many different doctors over the years and her husband Joe was a retired Rochester Public Utilities employee at the time of his death in 2006.  She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and cooking.

Irene is survived by Angelia M. (Dan) Blackowiak of Shoreview MN and Anthony L. (Mary) Griffin of Rochester who she and her husband adopted in 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister and brother.

The family would like thank all the staff at Meadow Lakes Senior Living, Seasons Hospice and Dr. Tangalos and nurses for all love and care given to Irene.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at St. Johns Church.   Memorials are suggested to either Seasons Hospice or to Meadows Lakes Senior Living.
