Ingrid Marie (Peterson) Waltz, of Rochester, MN, passed away at age 90 on November 28, 2021. Born and raised in Royal Oak, MI of Swedish parents, she attended the University of Michigan where she received both undergraduate and teaching degrees. She moved with her then-husband, Arthur Gerald Waltz (predeceased), to Brookline, MA, where she taught first grade to "the most amazing, gifted children". Following an army stint in El Paso, TX, the growing family moved to Rochester, MN. A talented pianist and gifted singer, she performed in several productions at the Rochester Civic Theater, including a lead role in "The King and I". Her later years were devoted to family, in addition to watching sports (particularly football) on TV. Quick-witted, upbeat, and always with a kind word, she is survived by her sister Donna Pitcher of Bloomfield, CO and by her 3 children (David Waltz of Waban, MA; Carolyn Waltz of Minneapolis, and Katherine Kazemba of Minneapolis), and was a proud and loving grandmother to 5 grandchildren.
