The funeral service for Helen E. Vale, age 87, of Rochester will be at 1:00pm Tuesday January 5, 2010 at Macken Funeral Home with the Rev. Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating.  Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.  She passed away on January 2, 2010 at St. Marys Hospital of Natural Causes.

Helen was born to Amil and Emma Kadlec on August 6, 1922 in Olmsted County.  On January 5, 1944 she married Byron Louis Vale; he died on July 13, 1960.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Dianne (Charlie) Uecker of Plainview and Kathy (Keven) McMullen of Blue Springs, Missouri; 3 sons, Gary and Randy Vale of Rochester, Layne (Conni) Vale of Arizona; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Emily Baker and Louise (Norman) Rockvam both of Rochester.  She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Amil Jr. and Robert Joseph; 1 son, Lance; and 1 grandson, Chad Uecker.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Macken Funeral Home.
