February 1, 1917 – April 12, 2017
Helen Elizabeth (Curley) Marble, 100, of Rochester, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Samaritan Bethany.
Helen was born on February 1, 1917, in Cambridge Springs, PA to Jennie and Andrew Curley. She lived the majority of her childhood in PA, moving to NY in her twenties. While working for the Greyhound Bus Company, Helen met her future husband, Richard Marble. They were married on July 3, 1947. Richard and Helen began their family in NY, moving to Rochester, MN with IBM in 1961.
Helen worked for the Rochester Public Library for nearly twenty years before her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, making applesauce, camping, and babysitting her grandkids. She especially loved making return trips to NY to visit her extended family. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with the friends in her red hat group. Helen's longtime goal was to live to be 100. She achieved this on February 1, 2017.
Survivors include two daughters, Jackie McKnite of Shakopee, and Barbara (Rod) Toomey of Rochester; four grandchildren, Sean McKnite, Erica (Jim) McKnite, Lisa (John) Kipp, and Jennifer (Juan) Wilson; seven great-grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother.
