Hazel B.  Pearson, 87 of Rochester, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, May 9 ^th , 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital of natural causes.   She was born on February, 18 ^th , 1925 in Vernon Township and was one of ten children by parents Erick and Bertha Himle.  After graduating  from high school in 1946, Hazel  began working at the Rochester Chick Hatchery.  In October 1947, Hazel started her career with Olmsted County as a clerk in the Auditor's department.    Three months later, she was appointed Deputy County Auditor; a role she enjoyed for 37 years.   She spent the last 6 years of her 43 year career as County Auditor.

Surviving Hazel are her husband of 65 years, Norman; their children, Marcia, Gary and Brenda; two brothers; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers.

Visitation is in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Friday, May 11 ^th from 4:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. and 1 hour prior to service at the church.   Celebration of Life will be held at Zumbro Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 12 ^th at 11:00a.m.

Burial will be at West St. Olaf Church following reception. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Zumbro Lutheran Church.
