Grace E. Burich, age 89 passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Seasons Hospice.  Grace E. Lorence was born on October 28, 1923 in Glencoe, MN.

Grace grew up on a farm outside of Glencoe, MN and attended grade school at St. Joseph Catholic School in Silver Lake, MN.  At age 18, after graduating from Silver Lake High School, she left home to attend Minneapolis Business College and then worked as a secretary in Minneapolis.    It was on a bus going from Glencoe to Minneapolis, where she met Harry, her future husband.  They were married on May 11, 1946 at St Olaf Catholic Church in Minneapolis.  They lived in Minneapolis while Harry completed his surgical residency and then moved to Lacrosse, WI in 1953.  They moved to Rochester in 1955 when Harry joined the Olmsted Medical Group.

Grace was a long time member of St. Pius and then St. John's Catholic Church and most recently lived and attended mass at Madonna Towers.  She was active in the rosary society, PTA, and the hospital auxiliary.  Grace had many good friends in Rochester and also in Rio Verde, AZ.

Grace enjoyed playing golf with Harry and with friends in both Rochester and Arizona.  She loved to play bridge, and played with the same group of women for over forty years.    She loved to read, and was always interested in current events.  Grace and Harry traveled a great deal over the years, but family and home were the center of her life; she graced them with her special touch and her unforgettable smile and optimism.

She is survived by three daughters: Kathie (Jim) Whiting of Rochester, Linda Burich (Gary Lynn) of Minneapolis and Andrea (Pat) Clark of Rochester, two sons: Randy (Jennifer) of Newport MN, Steven (Sherlyn) of Byron, sister Lillian Taylor, Buffalo Lake, MN,  brother Erven (Lucy) Lorence, Glencoe, MN, thirteen grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

Grace is preceded in death by her husband Harry, her parents, three sisters, Alice, Angie, Marge and a brother, Milton.

The family would like to thank the staff at Seasons Hospice and the staff and residents at Madonna Towers for their care and concern.

A funeral Mass for Grace will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Madonna Towers Chapel with Rev. James Russell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
