Ginette Ferry left this life April 6, 2021 at the age of 83 in Rochester, Minnesota.

Born in Ailleville, France January 20, 1938,  Ginette was a studious young girl who loved learning and the arts.  One day her brother brought home a charming American Airman whom she helped with his French… She married Daniel Flugel and they raised five children together, moving wherever the military sent them from the Champagne Province of France to Champaign, Illinois; including many years in Upstate New York. They moved to Minnesota upon military retirement in 1978.

Besides being a nurturing and loving mom, Ginette worked in retail where her artistic talents especially flourished at gift shops including Utica Leather in New York and The Buckskin Shop in Minnesota.  Later her scientific mind and attention to detail benefitted both Bud Freeman's Hearing Aids and the Surgical Services Department of Mayo, from where she retired.

Ginette cultivated a sense of wonder, seeing beauty in everything, sharing easily her insight, love, and laughter. She loved language and words… and her family, fiercely. Her presence will be deeply missed, but is still profoundly present, as her inspirational spirit will carry on in all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lucien and France Ferry, and siblings: Suzanne, Jean, Jeannine, André, Robert, Guy, and Jules.

She is survived by her sisters : Josiane Gracia, Lucienne Chvatal, Mireille Schmidt, and Marie-France LeGall ; children : Mary Ann Bradley (Dan), Steve Flugel, Sandy Nortung (Michael), Kathy Flugel-Collé (Tom), and Laura Thompson (Barry); grandchildren: Nicholas, Travis, Andrew, Anthony, Sarah, Adam, Hannah, Anna, Danica, Erik, Jacob, Joel, Brian, Justin, Benjamin, Morgan, and Abby; and great-grandchildren: Anthony, Giavanna, Zoey, Asher, Leon, Clare, and Sebastian.
