Geraldine "Geri" Mary Welscher of Rochester, MN died peacefully in her home on February 13, 2026. Geri was born October 16, 1949, in Caledonia, MN to Luman and Eileen (Privet) Welscher.

She graduated from Loretto High School, Caledonia, MN in 1967, and went to St. John's School of Practical Nursing, Red Wing, MN graduating in 1968 as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). After working a few years, she went back to school at the Rochester Community College, Rochester, MN, graduating as an RN (Registered Nurse) in 1972.  Her nursing career took her to LaCrosse, WI; St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, MN; Loveland, CO; Mayo Clinic, AZ; Mayo Clinic, FL and back to Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN as well as caring for family, friends and neighbors in their time of need. She retired after 37 years of continuous employment at Mayo Clinic, Rochester.

She is survived by her special friend, Don Kramer; siblings: S. Kathleen Welscher, Elaine (Anderson) Welscher; Georgina (Welscher) Rink (Mike Nowotarski); Thomas Welscher; William (Teresa) Welscher; nieces and nephews: Matthew Welscher, Timothy (Karissa) Welscher, Leah Welscher, Alecia Welscher (Adam) Mizes, Daniel Welscher; Nicolas (Jamie) Rink, Mike Rink, David (Tracy) Rink, Catherine Rink (Cole Hepner); Sarah and Christopher Welscher; grand nieces and nephews: Megan, Aaron, Owen Rink; Lydia and Claire Rink; Weston Rink; Jeremiah and Nora Welscher. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James, and brother-in-law, Barry Rink.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Rochester, MN. Fr. James Kunz will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to Mass. Online condolences are welcome at www.mackenfuneralhome.com.

On Saturday, February 21, in Caledonia MN, there will be Sharing of Memories at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Holy Family Hall followed by burial of Geri's ashes at Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia, MN then returning to St. Mary's Holy Family Hall, Caledonia, MN for a luncheon.
