The funeral mass for Geraldine Cecilia Peterson will be at 11:00a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Pax Christi Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Fogal officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Geraldine Cecelia Peterson, 92, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Care Center, Wabasha, MN.

Geri was born February 3, 1922 in Kenyon, MN to Perry W. and Margaret (Osborn) Showalter.  After graduating from West Concord High School in 1939, she attended beauty school in St. Paul where she worked for several years.  Geri moved to Rochester in 1944 and was employed at Massey & Spicer Beauty and 10 years for Olmsted Co. Health Department.   Geri unselfishly took care of her aging mother in her last years of life.  She married Thomas Peterson on November 18, 1948.  Geri was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was on the Altar Society.  Her faith and her family were a great part of her life.

Geraldine is survived by her sister, Betty Marcuson of Kenyon, MN and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Dawn Fellows, great nephew and a great-great nephew.
