Gerald W. Posthumus, Sr.

Gerald W. Posthumus, Sr., 99, of Rochester passed away on August 26, 2025. He had been under hospice care at Aviva River Bend Assisted Living.

Gerald was born on August 7, 1926 in Buffalo, MN to William and Florence Posthumus.

Gerald is survived by his son Ted (T.J.) Posthumus of Faribault, MN; grandson, Gerald Posthumus, III of Rochester; two grand-daughters, Tarah Posthumus (Andy Erickson) of Hudson, WI and Sheryl Posthumus of Minneapolis; three great-grandsons, Ethan and Owen Posthumus of Rochester and Helix Erickson of Hudson, WI; and one great-granddaughter Luna Posthumus of Hudson, WI; and daughter-in-law Evelyn Posthumus of Rochester.

He was preceded in death by Alice, his wife of 66 years; his son Gerald Posthumus, Jr; his son Bruce Posthumus; and brothers Warren and Allen Posthumus.

A Memorial Gathering for Gerald will be held at 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Silver Creek Community Church in Maple Lake, MN. The burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Maple Lake, MN.

In place of flowers, memorials can either be sent to the family or a charity of their choice.
