The funeral for Genevieve Threinen will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 29,2013 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester MN, with Father Paul Nelson officiating.  Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Macken Funeral Home.

Genevieve Threinen, 80, resided at Fairview Nursing Home in Dodge Center MN formerly of Byron, died November 24th, 2013.

Genevieve was born November 2, 1933 to Francis and Frances (Klein) Sutton in Rochester MN.  She graduated from Lourdes High School in 1951.  On April 11,1953 she married Richard Threinen in Rochester MN.  The couple resided in Byron MN where they raised six sons.  Mr. Threinen passed away in 1988. Genevieve worked in the kitchen at St. Mary's Hospital for 43 years.  She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Byron.

She is survived by her children: Steve of Milton Pennsylvania, Ron of Georgia, Kevin (Carolyn) of Columbia Heights MN and John (Sherry) of Kasson MN;  six grandchildren: Adam (Amber), Brandon (Katy), Jacob, Isaac, Emily and Sarah; three great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Greg and Luke; Six sisters: Lois Klein of Rochester MN, Pat Theim of Rochester MN, Kathy Boettcher of Peoria AZ, Mary Bellows of Byron MN, Connie (Ryan) Weihe of Rochester MN, Monica Sutton of Byron MN, three brothers: Chuck of Byron MN, Paul (Mary) of Dodge Center MN, Joe (Pam) St. Charles MN.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons Mike, David, and Jim. Two brothers Gene and Lowell and infant sister.
