A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Madonna Meadows Chapel at 10:00AM with Sr. Carol Axtmann officiating.  Genevieve Brown passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Madonna Towers, Rochester, Minnesota

Genevieve Hanson was born June 18, 1914 in Seattle Washington.  She came to Minnesota as a small child.  Genevieve graduated from Rochester High School.  On July 10, 1934, she married Marvin James Brown at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.  Genevieve lived in Olmsted County until 1942 when she moved back to Washington State where she worked at Boeing Aircraft as a "Rosie Riviter".  Then in 1945, Genevieve returned to Minnesota and was employed at Rochester Dairy as a lab technician from 1949 to 1979 until she retired.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the V.F.W.

Genevieve is survived by her children; Wayne W. (Josie) Brown of Phoenix, AZ, Renee J. (Ed) Robinet of Kasson, MN; brother, Richard E. "Babe" Hanson of Rochester, MN and a very special friend, Earl Stender, Rochester, MN.  She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin who died in 1963, two sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00PM Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Macken Funeral Home.
